My hives BEFORE they got really bed...you don't want to see the worst of them...Promise!!
Well there isn't much to tell about this past week except ALL the doctor visits we have been to to find out what has been making Jaxton so sick. He had been on Amoxicillian for all 10 days but came down with a really bad cold last Wednesday and by Friday I decided to take him back to the Dr. since he was getting worse. She said his ears, throat, etc looked all clear and that it was just a really bad cold and gave me a Rx for Omnicef to fill if he wasn't better by Sunday. He had the most green snot I have ever seen come out of his nose...it was amazing how much he was producing. And a horrible cough all night long!! BUT on Saturday morning he woke up with red swollen bumps on his body and they were getting worse by the minute...LITERALLY!!! I didn't know if they were chicken pox or measles or mumps or WHAT!!!! As a new mother I didn't want to take any chances so we rushed him to the after hours clinic at 9 am that morning. After throwing up all over the room again....he really hates the Doctor....this Dr. said it is not anything I thought it was but that it was hives and it could have been induced by his horrible cold virus. He sent us home with a steroid ( which immediately helped calm the hives down ), an antihistamine and a cough suppressant. I got the antibiotic filled too. On Sunday things seemed to be getting a little better until Monday morning when I noticed NEW HIVES!!!! I called his normal Dr. back panicked!! She checked him out again and said he had a DOUBLE EAR INFECTION and was glad we started him on the antibiotic over the weekend!! She said the hives should eventually go away but would come and go for a few days. GEEZ!!! This is the worst I have ever seen Jaxton...he just wanted to be held so much and all the medicine was making him very sleepy which was good since he hadn't slept for the past few days! He has been such a trooper taking all of his medicines...which I know some are very yucky by the way he closes his eyes and quivers when he swallows it. Hopefully all this medicine will make him get back to normal very soon!! Until then... we are house bound for a few more days!
During the few moments he does want to play he has been opening and closing his hands and just really figuring out more about them lately. If you say open...he opens his hand...and when you say close...he closes his hand. He loves to look at himself in the mirror and SMILE at himself every time we pass by one. He continues to talk all the time and now really means it when he says Mom, mama and dada. He knows Lights ON...Lights OFF and will look at any light when we say it....he will push the light switch and watch the light go OFF and ON too. He continues to learn many objects by name but not saying what any of them are yet....I think BALL will be his next word.
Jaxton has been getting better at eating finger foods too this past week...he ate scrambled egg yolk, a few bites of Organic pizza, a few pieces of baby waffles, bites of a whole banana and peach and even some Gerber chicken sticks! We are getting there slowly but surely!
GOOD NEWS for GRAMMY today!! After the Tumor Board studied her case they came to the conclusion that what cancer is left is so microscopic that they are only going to do radiation and NO SURGERY!!! She probably will have to take Hormone Chemotherapy...which is by pill and supposedly NO SIDE EFFECTS ( not like the real CHEMO )! She was very excited by the news today. She won't start the radiation for a couple of weeks. So THANK YOU for all your prayers and I hope you continue to keep her in them...
