Can I open my presents now???
Well on Thursday last week, the day before Jaxton's Birthday, we headed to Crave Cupcakes in Uptown Park to try the cake thing AGAIN!!! So when we got home we set his birthday chair all up again and brought out a "CHOCOLATE" cupcake this time instead of the white kind to see if he would like that better!! As soon as I put it on his tray his smile started to fade away and it quickly turned into a spit-up face as soon as I put some of the cake in his mouth!! Now we know FOR SURE he doesn't like things that sweet!! So we headed straight to opening up MORE presents!! Our house is definitely....Hvezdos R'Us !!
After a good nights sleep Jaxton woke up to open ONE more BIG present from us...a new trike that we can steer from the handle behind him so he can just ride along right now and feel like he is steering!! Now we have to push him around in it in the house all the time too along with Mr. Coupe!!
Friday, FINALLY Jaxton's REAL Birthday!!!!! Today was the day he got to ride FACING-FORWARD in his car seat!!!! I was worried he wouldn't fall asleep in it since there was SO MUCH more to see BUT that actually worked in my favor because it put him right to sleep until we got to our hotel. We headed to the Hilton of Americas in downtown Houston for the weekend. We checked in and then went straight to get his 1st haircut...well at least we attempted it!! My hairdresser at Clique Salon has a 3 year old son and has had practice BUT told me not to expect much from Jaxton....and he was right of course! Jaxton wanted NOTHING to do with James trying to cut his bangs BUT he did get the back of his haircut which needed it the most! So we quickly left after a NO CHARGE hair-cut and went to eat at Guadalajara! We had to eat Mexican Food on his Birthday because we think that is what sent me into early labor!!
We then headed to Discovery Green and played out on the lawn for awhile since it was such a beautiful evening then it was off to bath time and a final good-night at 9 p.m! But before he went to sleep Ross and I started something very special for him when he goes to bed each night....it is called the Family Blessing and we lay our hands on Jaxton and pray out loud together over him and repeat Numbers 6:24-26 which says:
" THE LORD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU;
The Lord make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His Countenance on you,
And give you peace."
We stayed on the Executive Lounge Floor so we could have another place to lounge around with Jaxton at the hotel and boy did he love that place...I mean Jax's Lounge!!! He crawled all over that place like he owned it and I scrubbed his hands and knees everytime he took a break BUT it was so worth having all that extra space! We should have slept in there too because I had to call security since our CRAZY and OBNOXIOUS next door neighbors were partying all day and night!
On Saturday we strolled around downtown and then Ross left to go tailgate early for the Big UH vs Texas Tech game that night at 8:15!! My mom came to meet me to shop around for a bit and then I put Jaxton down for a nap hoping he would make it to the game! As soon as we got to the game and put Jaxton in his wagon for a little bit of tailgating he was all SMILES!!!!! He loved riding in his wagon!! We headed over to the game and met Ross's parents. He did so good for it being SO HOT but he only lasted the 1st quarter. So my mom and I headed back to the car and ended up getting into a PEDICAB ( a guy that pulls you in a cart on his bike) so we didn't have to make that long walk back to the car...that was fun!! Ross stayed with his parents to watch the sad ending to that game! Poor Red Raiders AND Ross!!!
It was a GREAT weekend to end Jaxton's 1st Birthday and one day he can look back on all the pictures and tell us that we were so "CRAZY" but "FUN"!!!!!
