What a week I had preparing for Christmas at our house....now I know I can " DO IT ALL" even with a kiddo!!! He was so GOOD watching me run around getting everything perfect for his 1st Christmas!!! All the presents were wrapped, desserts were cooked, dinner was prepared ( everyone in the family brought something for the dinner....really helped out this year!!! ), toilets were cleaned and ALL THE CANDLES WERE LIT !!!! ( Ross went to Livingston and Tyler to visit his family since little man doesn't like to ride in his car seat for very long...hopefully that will change over time!!! )

On Christmas Eve he went to his 1st Church service in Tomball, Texas and stayed awake for the entire production and was in awe over the music and lights!!! The last song was Silent Night and everyone lit their candles and it almost put him to sleep!! Not one little cry the whole time...he must love being in GOD's presence!!! We went back to my sister's house where we changed him into his Christmas pj's ( see picture above ) and swaddled him up and he fell right to sleep in between all the pillows on my sister's bed until it was time to head home!! We quickly put him in the car and he fell back to sleep and we hurried home to put him into bed before Santa came and he slept until 3 am and then until 7:30 am!!! Yea!!!

He woke up to all of Santa's surprises!!! He must have been a GOOD boy for these past 3 months because it looked like Babies R Us in our living room!! We put him into his bouncer and he opened up everyone of his presents with such excitement ( lots of kicking and staring at the the presents ) until he passed out from all the excitement!!!

After Christmas dinner it was time for bed because having ALL the family over at once was too much excitement!!

On Friday his cousins ( Ashlyn & Austin ) came into town and he played with them until he was worn out again!!!

On Saturday Ross and I went to his Mom's 60th Birthday Dinner while my Mom, Aunt, Uncle and cousins came over to babysit and eat Chinese food!! He was worn out again from all the company!!

So much company BUT SO MUCH LOVE!!!

What a week this was!!! .....Saturday ( Dec 13th) night my Mom and her friend babysat Jaxton for the first time while we went out with his parents for a relaxing "adult" dinner and drinks afterwards for Ross's Birthday. All was well until about midnight when my stomach began to turn.....AND TURN.....and TURN until this past Saturday ( Dec 20th )!! STOMACH VIRUS!!!! But thank goodness Ross and Jaxton did not get that from me. It really sucks and is SAD to be sick with a little one!!! I felt so bad I wasn't feeling good enough to play with him!!! BUT he kept smiling back at me so I would feel better and it did help!!

He is just growing up so fast...I know I keep saying this...BUT IT'S TRUE!!! He just smiles and smiles from ear to ear. He is even giggling every now and then too!! He is starting to sit up with assistance now...head still bobbles some...but he loves it!! He FOUND his hands this week and stares at them until he gets crossed-eyed!! He finally is holding his rattle in his hand and stares at it too!

Poor little man is losing his hair too... I wonder if he will be a BALDIE!!!

We changed his nipple size on his bottle this weekend and now he gulps down his milk in no time and is actually able to eat more since it doesn't wear him out to suck so long...yeah!! Maybe he will sleep even longer!!! But he has been doing good...still 5 - 7 hour stretch at first then 3 hours then 1 or 2 then wakey wakey!!!

On Thursday my sister and I surprised my mom with a crib and all the bedding to go with it so we don't have to tote around pack n plays and we all can get a good night sleep when we stay the night....he did really good for the first night away and slept his usual pattern!! We took him shopping the next day and he did great until the car ride home where he "Whahhhhhhhhhh" FOREVER because he hates to be tied down in his car seat!!! He just likes his freedom!!! I don't blame him!! So this week I bought him a mirror he can look into so he can see how sad he looks when he cries like that....maybe it will make him stop...I will let you know!!

We went to see Santa this week and he did SO GOOD!!! They don't give you much time up there BUT I turned Jaxton toward Santa so he could see him and tell him what he wanted for Christmas!! P.S. - Don't ever go on the Saturday BEFORE Christmas....everyone and their strollers are there!!!

Well we gotta go get the house ready for Christmas Day Dinner and make cookies for Santa!!!

What another week of growing for this little man!! We are now in Size 2 diapers since we can see his butt crack in the Size 1 now....too small!!! I swear he has grown taller and gained more weight but we won't know until we see the Dr. at 4 months ( end of January )...hopefully we won't see her before then!! BUT we will be able to give him cereal then!!! Yea!!!

This week he has learned to blow tiny bubbles with his mouth and LOTS more talking...even some squealing has emerged!!! LOTS of smiles too so I hope that means he is HAPPY!!!!! He is on the verge of giggling...I think he may have a little this week but I want to hear it LOUD!!! He is still trying to swallow his hands...geez!!! He is doing extremely well on focusing on something for a long period of time....he likes his "Hello Bee" book alot!! The animals have big eyes ( they are supposed to like that ) and there is a mirror on every other page that says " Hello Me" so he can stare and smile at himself!! He can follow an object from left to right and even looks at me upside down!! I put a rattle in his hand and he kept a good grip and was able to shake it several times and pull it to his mouth before he let go...will have to keep working on this...but he does grab for other objects....especially his Santa blankie still....he LOVES him!!

I don't know if this is good or not BUT Jaxton loves to watch the t.v.!!!!!! Seriously!!! I am going to start putting in his Baby Einstein videos next week and my mom bought him one where we can practice "Baby's First Moves" ( he needs to be 3 months so that is next week )

I have been sitting him up alot more since he is holding his head up pretty good all by himself and he can stand straight for awhile too now...he likes to see the different view I am sure than just lying down always and looking up.

Sleeping has been going really well for him ( maybe one day since Thanksgiving has he woke up alot )!! Last night he slept 7 hours straight and lucky for me I went to sleep about 1 1/2 hours after him so I was able to get more too!! Hopefully it will keep getting better. I just need to try to keep him up longer at night so he won't be bright-eyed at 5:15!! But he is SO TIRED in the evening...probably from playing all day!!

And guess what he got to see this week....SNOW!!! Yes he did and he even sat out in it long enough to try and lick it when it was falling on his mouth!!! I took some great video and captured a few pictures...who would have thought!!! I was so glad I was home to get it on video!!

Well my days are drawing near where I am going to have to leave my "little man" and I get an upset stomach when I think about it BUT we are meeting a lady next week who might tale care of him in her home...so please say a PRAYER that it happens!!!!

Well I NEVER thought we were going to get ALL the Christmas decorations up this year with "little man" it our lives BUT.....we succeeded!!!!!!!!!

Ross put up all the lights on the house while we strolled in the stroller and then it was time for me to do the "detail" Christmas lights....SO...the plan was to run out there when Jaxton takes his 2 hour nap around lunch time as he always does in his swing listening Mozart!! And what do you know...Mother Nature decides to send us strong enough winds that day to keep making the power go "OFF" and "ON" about a 100 times...now remember that Jaxton LOVES listening to his Mozart CD...so what happened??? He woke up EVERY TIME the power went off because he was missing his Mozart!! Geez!!! Needless to say we finally got it done!!!

So Ross left for New Jersey this whole last week for training and I was determined that Jaxton and I would get the house feeling like Christmas so when he returned it would be all done and put us all in the spirit!! LONG story short ( with more wind and power outages over the next few days)....we got the WHOLE house decorated, the tree decorated and we even went SHOPPING for a few new things!!! Jaxton I must say was a real TROOPER!! He is just mesmerized by all the lights and decorations that he doesn't even need toys!!!!

I ordered him a Santa blankie for him and I thought he might be scared of it...BUT he actually just stares at his face FOREVER and smiles when I say ( in a Santa voice!) " HoHoHo...Merry Christmas!!!" Then I was at HEB and they had a reindeer that says HOHOHO too and sings Jingle Bells and he loves that too!!! Hopefully when he meets the REAL Santa he will smile and love him too....to be continued !!!

This week Jaxton has been holding his head up more by himself....even though he hates tummy time!!! He even can stand for about 5-10 seconds with help of course...those strong legs from kicking them ALL THE TIME will hopefully get him going soon!!!

He sucks on his hand to the point where he tries to fit the entire thing in his mouth!!! But it does keep him occupied when we are shopping and he can't keep his pacifier in!!

This week he has finally figured out how to bite the nipple on his bottle...GLAD I AM NOT BREASTFEEDING ANYMORE!!!! He helps hold the bottle tightly now and pulls it out when he needs a break and pushes it back in when he is ready to eat again....amazing how fast they learn these things!!!

I bought him some books and have started to read to him thinking there is no way he would sit still long enough for me to even read him the title BUT WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW...he actually pays attention and looks intently at the pictures!!!

Last BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, he has been sleeping pretty good lately and last night I couldn't believe it when he started to make loud noises after 5 hours of sleeping straight AND THEN HE WENT BACK TO SLEEP FOR ANOTHER HOUR!!!! Maybe we will make it to that light at the end of the tunnel!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving - 9 weeks!!

WHAHHHHHH!!!

Those shots wore me out!!!!

We had a big week starting off by getting his 2 month shots....OUCHIE!!! He did pretty good and thank goodness I had a fresh bottle ready for him so he could soothe himself!!

He weighed in at a WHOPPING 12 pounds 3.2 ounces and was 23 inches long!!! No wonder he is having to wear 3-6 month clothes now and why his "1" level diapers are getting tight!!! Momo's are now once a day or every other day...EWWWW!!!

We bought him a bouncer seat this week since he loves to kick and punch and he loves it ( usually for only 10-15 minutes )...short attention span at this age I guess!!

Lots more baby talk and smiles this week and he really knows his hands for sure...he rubs his eyes when tired, sucks on his hands and tries to hold his bottle!!

I also have been getting him out everyday so he will hopefully sleep better. We have gone shopping at the outlet store..which I think he thinks is boring since he passed out the whole time..that's why I need to have a girl next!! We have also been taking daily walks around the neighborhood too for fresh air!! And watching our neighbor put up 55,000...YES 55,000....Christmas lights on his house that is set to music!!! CRAZY!!!

This past week he has been FINALLY sleeping for at least 4 - 41/2 hours when I put him down but then the rest of the night is 3 - 2 hours!! Except for the night before Thanksgiving when he went back to his old schedule of waking up every 2 hours or so!!! So little man was very tired at my sister's house for Thanksgiving and ended up sleeping his way through dinner in my arms!!! I can't wait to give him rice cereal at 4 months so his little tummy can stay full longer!!!

For the first time this week I thought he was running a little bit of a temperature SO THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME FOR THE RECTAL THERMOMETER!! So I put him over my knee with his diaper still on and unfastened one side of the diaper to protect me and him and what do you know....he tried to squeeze his butt cheeks so tight so I could not enter!!! Good BOY!!!! But then when I did he started to momo when I was trying to hold it in there...EWWWWW!!!! So after a few minutes I decided to put him on the diaper changer and hold his legs up and do it that way....WRONG DECISION.....he started to momo AGAIN and PEE PEE starting flying everywhere on me and him so much so that I screamed and startled him so he began to cry and that was the end of that!!!! So I went and bought the Exergen temporal thermometer that they use at the doctor where you just run it across their forehead BUT it gave me different readings on the left and right side...VERY FRUSTRATING...so I called the doctor and talked to the nurse and she said RECTAL is best...so we managed to do it again ( over my knee with diaper on )with just a little MOMO this time...GEEZ!!!! She said no worries until it reaches 100.4!!

I was FINALLY able to go get my hair cut and highlighted...I was starting to look like a real worn out MOM!! So Ross took care of little man while I went to go feel human again....so I turned the radio up real loud and sang all the way to the hairdresser and back!!!! I know...I'm a nerd!!!

We made it to "2" Months Old!!

Holy Elsie!! We made it to 2 months...8 weeks....56 days....1,344 hours...80,640 minutes...4,838,400 seconds!!! Put it that way and it seems like FOREVER....Maybe only when I feel like Night of The Living Dead in the middle of the night STILL feeding our little wakey wakey man!! Geez!!! Other than that......it seems just yesterday we were having Champagne in the hospital!!

What another BIG week he has had. After all this night feeding and waking up I finally decided it was time to TRY some changes to see if it would help Jaxton sleep more through the night. So he slept up in his crib for the first time on Tuesday and I slept in the room down the hall with my monitor glowing brightly through the night to see what he his actually doing...I look like a DEA agent on a stake-out...waiting to move in ONLY at the precise moment..HAHA....he did pretty good Tuesday night, horrible Wednesday night, pretty good Thursday night and I am hoping each day will get better and better. When he goes down around 8 he will sleep 3 1/2 almost 4 hours and then he wakes 2 - 21/2 hours later and then another 2 hours and then every hour for the last two hours of sleep...BUT I do think he is making progress. He loves to be swaddled when he starts to get sleepy BUT he wiggles his way out of the best swaddling I can do while sleeping SO I tried the Kiddopatamus swaddle gown last night and he was no longer HOUDINI!!! Thank you GOD!!! We also started it a ritual this week to have bath time right before he goes to bed...and using that New Johnson & Johnson Sleep Bath Time Lotion and Bubble Bath...It says it "IS PROVEN TO MAKE BABIES SLEEP BETTER"....well so far in my trial it hasn't worked BUT I know trials have to be a good length to be fair...so let's wait and see....if NOT...I'm GETTING MY MONEY BACK!!!! ( OKAY...It is Saturday morning and I'm trying to finish this blog day since yesterday and I have to tell you Jaxton slept for 4 1/2 hours after I laid him down last night!!! Woo Hoo!!! ....maybe it was the lotion...maybe it was the outdoor walk...maybe it was his naps he had today...OR MAYBE IT WAS SOMETHING MY MOM SAID SHE WHISPERED INTO HIS EAR LAST NIGHT!!!!)

Ross has taken care of Jaxton some this week in the morning so I could sleep a little longer and it was SO FUNNY this week because I got up and walked downstairs and Ross was holding Jaxton while he was crying trying to calm him down and I walked in and Ross handed him to me and as he was doing that Jaxton cried "Maaaaaaa"...TRULY...Ross and I looked at each other and LAUGHED!!! He had been doing that when he was hungry but he was right on que this time!!!!

7 Weeks Old

If you look REAL close you will see where MOM spilt ketchup on me while she was holding me asleep and she was eating...she EVEN made me sleep in it because she didn't want to wake me up...so this is the next morning!!!

Well for all those reading this blog I hope you are enjoying our little moments we encounter each week. It is truly a BLESSING that this little man is in our lives and I am THANKFUL everyday that I get to hold and love on him whenever I want to. I see these Moms and have friends whose babies have been so sick that they can only touch them in their incubator for months!!! How SAD that is!!

Again this was another week of growth and fun!! I have to tell you the funniest story first though because I can't quit LAUGHING SO HARD!!!!!

Well Jaxton is now taking all formula and I am only Elsie the cow about two times a day now until I totally quit producing milk...BUT I do have to say that I shed a tear the first time I POURED my expressed milk down the sink...it was like throwing GOLD into the river!! AND I had to take the milk I was storing inthe fridge and throw it out BUT BUT BUT before I did that I had to do something that we would never get a chance to do until I have my next child...I poured some of it into a plastic cup and walked over to Ross sitting on the couch all into the TV and said, " Hey Ross, I bought some new SOY milk and I wanted you to taste it to see if we like it better than what we drink right now.....AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW....WITHOUT HESITATION...AND COMPLETE TRUST IN ME.....HE DRANK from the cup and looked up at me with a Eww Face and said it tasted sour.....WHICH it might have been since it had been in the fridge for several days....BUT I couldn't bypass the moment of him tasting MY MILK.....I started to crack up so hard and barely could tell him it was my breastmilk...he wiped his tongue with his shirt and couldn't believ I just did that!!!! Well....he had been talking about tasting it for the past 9 months ...so there you have it...his wish is my command!!!

Okay enough about the breastmilk from here on out!! No mas!!! But I do have to say that Jaxton's poopies are no longer little or odorless....they are like strained PEAS and it happens once a day and he is truly a GRUNTING BABY when it comes!! FYI...when you become a parent you become OBSESSED with POOPS and Pees!!! ANd from here on out we will call his poopies...momo's....this is the family name for it!!! And as far as his toots...they are still adult like...my Mom was shocked ( and she jumped )when she had her hand under his bottom and he decided to let one escape for her!!! It was so LOUD and it VIBRATED on her hand that it scared her!!! HA!! So as I told you before MYLICON drops are great for excessive tooting BUT on the news the other night what was on the RECALL LIST.....MYLICON DROPS>>>> for metal flakes in the liquid!!! HOLY COW!!!! SCARY!!! So when I went to Walgreens the other day to get my Flu shot and a different brand of toot medicine the MYLICON DROPS were still on the shelf!!!!! I had to tell the pharmacist and she freaked out and immediately took it off the shelf!!! Geez!!!! We all have to watch out for each other!!!

This week I also experienced " CALGON TAKE ME AWAY"...except I had no Calgon!!! I took my first HOT BATH since I had him!!! My incision is totally healed and I could of just stayed in there for a year!!! I LOVE my baths and it has been difficult not having them!!!! BUT we are back in business now!!! It truly takes the full 6 weeks to recover from a C-section!!! I can do just about anything now and am on my way to start exercising this week!!

I took Jaxton this week to have some Professional pictures done of him...which I should have done about 4 weeks ago BUT better late than never. So I will post the web-site address this next week and you can look at them if you want to see MORE pictures of him!!! They will be up for only a week.

And one note to all those new Moms out there: Jaxton LOVES the Baby Einstein CD's...it puts him right to sleep during the day and I even take them in my car to chill him out for those first few minutes when he is adjusting to the car seat!!

He has been SMILING SO MUCH MORE and I can't wait for the first Giggle!!! He is also VERY HAPPY when we sit him up in between pillows so he can see straight ahead....he is going to love it when he can sit on his own!!! Hopefully that's not too far away for him!!!

6 Weeks Old and Becoming A Chunky Monkey!!

Only 2 more weeks and we can get out and play more!!! Yea!! The highlight of our week this week was getting out to my 6 week check-up for myself at my Doctor and we also cruised by a few offices of Dr.'s that I call on for work since they were right there!! It was great to get him out BUT his car seat carrier is VERY HEAVY.... can't wait to get my muscles all back when I start working out again which she gave me the go ahead!! I now am only 5 pounds away from my pre-birth weight ( which is probably all in my boobs !!)!!

I am still pumping and giving him a bottle or two of formula which he has done GREAT with. Similac has come out with a new formula called ADVANCED - Early Shield which I can say is very very close to my breast milk in terms of his poopie diapers....they look just the same. Unlike the other Similac I tried ( Sensitive ) which made them look like REFRIED BEANS...EWWWW!! And Smelled!!!

Jaxton is growing BIGGER every minute!!! He smiles when he hears my voice now and really only screams when I don't have his bottle warmed up fast enough for him!! I can definitely tell his tired cry now and he is so precious when his eyes are so tired and he cries lightly until he falls asleep while rubbing his closed fists against my chest like a cat kneading his paws for his mom's milk. He is still eating feverishly!!

During his bath this week he had the longest sounding TOOTS in the water and they made so many bubbles that I was laughing so hard that it brought a smile to his face too...or maybe because the toot bubbles were tickling his little balls...HAHA!!!

OH....his results came back just fine from the scare!! Come to find out the Endocrinologists said they were comparing his values to ADULT values instead of PEDIATRIC!!!!! WHATEVER!!! They will hear about this when we see them in two weeks!! POOR Me...so worried something was wrong with him and POOR Jaxton...had to give that blood through his arm!!!
