OK...ENOUGH Memorial Day fun Mommy!!!

The second Ross left town last week for company meeting Jaxton decided to really start talking and hasn't stopped yet!! It started with Ba ba ba constantly and then went to a quiet ba ba ba to a LOUD BA BA BA. He starts out quietly then he sees how loud he really can say it even to the point he closes his eyes he is saying BA BA BA so LOUD!! It's hilarious!! I was in Target and he was sitting in the cart and just talking away the whole time we were in there and at times he got so loud I just had to laugh...there was NO WAY I was going to tell him to Shhhhh!! I love hearing his voice. This whole past week he has just talked and talked and talked all day long and he now is saying Ma Ma Ma Ma pretty consistently and we even have heard him say Da Da a couple of times in between the Ba Ba's! So since he is really trying to talk to us I attended a free class at Gymboree last Thursday for Baby Signs and we have decided to take the 9 week course. The other moms in there said it really works and leads to a lot less frustration when they are trying to tell you what they want.
Last week we walked in a few parks since the weather started off so beautiful and hung out with one of my best friends Cheri last Wednesday. They are moving to Dallas in 6-8 months :( BUT before then they are going to live out here by us since they sold their house all ready so I am really EXCITED about that. We can play all summer long together with the kiddos...YEA!!!!

For Memorial Day weekend we stayed in town and in between the rain storms we played in some pools that we bought Jaxton for the backyard and we went to our community pool AND to my sister's pool too!! My sister has a salt water pool so I didn't know how Jaxton would like that but since he likes the taste of his saline nose drops I figured it would be the same and what would you know....he liked it!!
On Saturday we met my sister and her husband with my Mom for dinner to celebrate my Dad this day since it has been 16 years since he died from brain cancer. Some days it seems like that was a whole entire different lifetime and some days it seems just like yesterday he was here. We miss his SO MUCH and now that I have had Jaxton it makes some days really hard. I know my Dad would of just adored him and would of had so much fun building him all kinds of forts and animal cages ( like he did for my sister and I)! We are just all very lucky we had such a great Father and Husband to remember and that is all that really matters!!

This past week I introduced Jaxton to cherries which were good but VERY TART so they definitely have to be mixed in another fruit and he tried CORN which he LOVED!!! Yea!! I also made the combination of Mango and Zucchini and he loved that too...thank goodness because it's very hard to get these little ones to like anything green!! But it does make their MoMo's turn blue-green!!! I tried some mashed avocado and I couldn't believe he didn't like it!! I will have to creative with this one!! That is one of the BEST foods anyone can eat as well as blueberries. This week we will try homemade Lamb and Asparagus! I think he is really getting tired of cereal!!
Even though Jaxton IS NOT crawling yet he sure is climbing all over everything!! He tries really hard to grab onto anything to pull himself up. Maybe he will just start walking and never crawl...we will just have to wait and see what he decides!!

BUT we lowered his bed all the way down just in case he decides to use the crib bumpers to pull himself up when we are not around...we had to lower it ALL the way since he is so tall !
I just can't believe how fast these little guys grow-up! It's amazing how much they change in just a short period of time!

NO FROGS!!! TOO COLD!!! This is the Chinese Water Gardens

I'm still waiting for the rain to go away!!!

Yacht Club pool where I was supposed to swim ALL DAY on Saturday!!

And the BEACH I was going to make my 1st sand castle in!!! Whah!!!

The adult hot tub at the Yacht Club!! WOW!!

After another week of all of us being sick I think we all FINALLY felt pretty good when we left for our trip last Friday to Horseshoebay in Marble Falls. I hadn't felt that crappy in a long time!! I even went to the Dr. and he gave me ANOTHER Z-pak even though he thought it was just viral ... but I did get weighed there and the scale came in at 116 lbs ... that is about what I thought I weighed. Now I just need to get into the gym and add some muscle to my lower half!!
Jaxton and I cruised around town last week getting together all the stuff we needed for our first trip. We even went to Gymboree finally and had so much fun there again!! I was SOOOO EXCITED for him all week because I knew he had no idea what we were about to do. Ross slept with the monitor for 3 nights before we left so I could get better faster and I think it worked AND I finally was able to sleep for at least 6 hours at a stretch without getting up to look at the monitor!!
Before this trip we bought Jaxton a new car seat since he has just about out grown his infant one. I was crossing my fingers he would like it and do better in the car and as it has turned out I think he really liked all the room to stretch out. We left on Friday morning just before he was about to take his morning nap and he fell asleep in the car for ONLY 30 MINUTES!! I was hoping it would be longer BUT he just played with me in his new seat until we got to Bastrop ( about 1 hr 45 min ) into the trip where he had a bottle and we stretched. He then slept another 45 minutes so he only had about another 45 minutes to hang tight before we got to Horseshoebay. We finally got there and I must say it was a VERY UNEVENTFUL car ride thank goodness...not much fussing at all!!! Whew!!
We arrived and it was just beautiful there!! I had reserved a room on-line which had a kitchenette with microwave so I could heat up Jaxton's food and a separate bath tub from the shower so he could take a bath AND a balcony so we could sit out there while he was napping so we wouldn't wake him up ( really though for us to just enjoy the view with a glass of wine too!!) AND the room was separated from the living room with a door so we could let him snooze in the dark. WELL the room had everything EXCEPT the BALCONY ( which was very IMPORTANT ) and a separate tub so I called to ask why it did not have these things it said it would. They called me back in 1 minute and said that it sounded like I was disappointed so they were putting us up in a suite with a BALCONY that overlooked the resort pool and water gardens and a separate tub!! PERFECT!! The only thing we had to ask for was a microwave which they brought to us. I also read they had cribs to I had bought crib bumpers thinking I was getting a REAL crib but come to find out they were just Pack-n-Plays which Jaxton wanted NOTHING to do with so needless to say he slept between us and we ended up really having fun with that and so did he.
Okay on to the vacation!! This was going to be Jaxton's 1st time in a pool and I was SOOO EXCITED to see his reaction!! So right when we got settled we headed down to the resort pool and HE WAS SO EXCITED he couldn't keep his feet still in his new baby swim boat!! HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE WATER!! He even stuck his own face in the water and just blinked his eyes a bunch until he could see again and drank down a couple sips of that pool water!! I have a feeling it is going to be hard to keep him out of it!! This pool happened to be heated so it wasn't freezing cold thank goodness. After swimming around and playing in the pool he took a great nap so I feed him his bottle and dinner quickly and we all got dressed to go down to the resort restaurant for dinner. WELL I think I feed him TOO QUICKLY and he was TOO EXCITED that he projectile vomited all over me and him at the table...poor baby!!! ( he hadn't thrown-up in 2 weeks either) Needless to say my white skirt was now speckled orange and yellow from his carrots and squash!! SO we decided to just bring dinner back to the room since we all had a very long day!
So as we woke up Saturday morning we saw the clouds had moved in a lot sooner than we thought they were going too and ended up ruining the rest of our outdoor fun in the pools!! Whah!! I was pretty disappointed for us and him. But we made the best of it and decided to go up to one of the restaurants at Cap Rock Golf Course which sits at the 18th hole and have lunch which turned out to be a pretty drive and good food BUT it was pouring!!! ( By the way this is all part of the resort and they have a pool there too that we WERE going to go play in!!) Ross had ordered me a massage so we headed back to the hotel and I left and they played until I was done. The massage was great and just what I needed ( a little quiet me time!!) Ross had his in the morning when he went for a run around the resort so we both were pretty satisfied. The girls at the spa were sad for Jaxton that the weather was so bad that he couldn't play in any of the pools so they said for us to bring him into the spa and use their heated pool and have some fun!! WOW!!! How nice was that!!! So I called Ross and said grab our stuff and I will meet you in the lobby and we can play at the spa for awhile!! So when they came down 2 things had happened while I was away ONLY for about 1 1/2 hours....Jaxton had a cut on his upper lip which Ross said his finger nail accidentally got Jaxton while playing AND Ross had to call housekeeping because when he was changing Jaxton's diaper he pee-peed all over the comforter!! What would of happened if I was gone longer???????
Well we ended up having some fun at the spa pool that afternoon. We headed back to the hotel room THINKING Jaxton would surely nap for a bit BUT he was just TOO EXCITED with all his surroundings and didn't. So Ross and I got showered and dressed and said we would just go downstairs and have a glass of wine and appetizer on the restaurant terrace and see how he does down there. Well the little boogie ended up falling asleep in my arms and we were able to have a nice dinner outside.
Sunday morning we woke up HOPING all this rain would be gone BUT instead we had very cloudy skies and it was COLD!! Whah!!! So we took Jaxton to see all the birds that were around the 18 hole putt-putt course ( which was SO COOL..... I was like a miniature REAL golf course) and waterfalls and then to the Chinese Gardens to see more waterfalls and he really loved that too!!! ) We then headed over to the Yacht Club (where we WERE going to spend our Saturday afternoon) just to show Jaxton the sand BUT AGAIN it was way TOO COLD so we just looked around!! It was a beautiful place though!! I was so bummed because I knew Jaxton would of had a blast.....SO WE WILL RETURN TO HORSESHOEBAY VERY SOON!!!!
Our trip home was uneventful too...Jaxton actually slept for 2 hours since he was so worn out!! It was just great to get away for the weekend and we had so much family bonding time with Jaxton that it was all worth it!!
So just a little bit about Jaxton these days. He is sleeping with his HINEY WAY UP in the air and is turning over and back with no problem!! BUT he is doing this at diaper changing time too!! He is scooting more and more each day...he just needs to figure out how to use his arms to help him crawl. He has been making tons of sounds...like he is trying to talk to us...which I wish I could understand!! He is just continuing to want to EXPLORE everything! His hair is growing more and more each day and I think the red is finally being taken over by more sandy blonde. His upper teeth have not emerged yet so he is still chomping down on his fingers ALL THE TIME!! He is eating really good at his meals and is starting to act like he is chewing so I gave him his first teething biscuit which he liked a lot ( really just sucked on it and banged it on his highchair tray to make a mess...oh well!! ) I have started making his food with just a little bit more texture and I think he is finally figuring it out that those pieces are supposed to be in there!! He would just give me the yuckiest face and close his eyes until he either swallowed the little piece or he gummed it enough that it was like puree!!! This week he is going to try cherries and corn ( or asparagus ). BUT the corn will be pureed and put through a sieve so we won't see it again in his diaper!! Haha!!

My TWEET TWEET friend ... for real!!!!!

This is my Gecko face!!

I can't get enough of these fingers!!!

Oh DAD... you have got to learn how to smile for Mommy!!

I wish we could go to the water park over there BUT I'm not old enough yet!

Grandma, Dad and ME at Tommy Bahama's!!!

You like my "CARS" lawn chair???

My G.G. and me on Easter...we finally found this picture!

Even though we all still have been feeling crummy ( Geez this is taking forever to go away !) we did everything we had planned for Mother's Day weekend anyway!!
On Thursday night we were FINALLY able to go stay the night at my Mom's house. We did our usual trip to Babies R Us first and then headed to Grammy's! We went on a stroll around the neighborhood and talked to a few old neighbors. When Grammy got home from work she had bought Jaxton his first "Cars" lawn chair ( when I was growing up we used to sit out in the front yard all the time in our chairs talking with our neighbors and playing so he had to be inducted!)Jaxton had not been sleeping very well but what would you know....HE WENT RIGHT TO SLEEP AND SLEPT ALL NIGHT!!!! I couldn't believe it! Thank Goodness!!
On Friday we headed up to meet Ross and his Mom for lunch at Tommy Bahama's in the Woodlands she could celebrate Mom's day with Jaxton. Lunch was great and then Grandma took us to some cool stores up there that I will have to go back too!!!
Saturday was our day as a family to celebrate my 1st Mother's Day and we planned a day at Moody Gardens. Jaxton slept most of the way down there and back with a bottle to soak up the rest of the car trip. We took him to the Aquarium where he couldn't keep his head still from looking at all the exotic fish swimming all around. Then we headed over to the Rainforest where he had a good time touching all the plants &trees..it is good for him to feel different textures..and there was plenty of them there!!! We walked outside along the ocean and took in a few of the sun's rays and then we headed back home. He was pretty worn out!! When we got home Ross gave me some Sapphire earrings in honor of Jaxton's birthstone for Mother's day. What a thoughtful and memorable gift I thought that was!!

On Sunday Ross went to spend the day with his Mom and sister in Conroe and I went and had brunch with my sister and Mom at Mockingbird Bistro. Not long after we got there and had ordered our "expensive" ( didn't really have a choice there ) champagne Mom wasn't watching Jaxton's little exploratory hands and WHACK!!! down goes Mom's glass of champagne all over my sister who was wearing a brand new SILK DRESS!!!! Plus glass went flying everywhere!! Geez!! I'm sure that won't be the first!! Jaxton also tried to sit in a highchair for the very first time and was okay in it for awhile...will have to bring a few more toys to keep him entertained!!
Other than that we had a GREAT 1st MOTHER's DAY!!
