All Fun This Week!!

I have to say this is one of the most fun weeks I have had with Jaxton. I am starting to plan some things to do during the week ahead of time so we can start exploring all kinds of new things. But first let me tell you that Jaxton's Dr. called in Prevacid and that it totally worked a MIRACLE on him....NO MORE PROJECTILE VOMITING and only two times has he spit up just a little early in the morning...he has even gotten his appetite back and I'm having to scape the bowl to get every last bit!! THANK YOU GOD!!! What a difference that medicine has made for him...so I guess he must have Reflux!!

On Tuesday we showed up to our 1st Gymboree experience and Jaxton had sooooo much fun...he was even called on by his teacher Ms. Sheri to demonstrate the next activity and he did it perfectly...I was even surprised!! I had to lay him on his tummy on a wedge mat and he was to push off my hands with his feet to get the ball at the top of the wedge mat and he SUCCEEDED on his first try!!! He laughed the whole time and he LOVED kicking the beach ball back and forth with all the other babies the most!! When Ms. Sheri blew bubbles above all the babies Jaxton was trying so hard to catch one but they just kept disappearing...go figure!! Bubbles are going to have to be a staple around our house this summer! I was so excited that he enjoyed it so much!! That will be something we do every week now!! Yea!!

On Wednesday for Earth Day I got Jaxton all ready and took him to Downtown Houston to Discovery Green. I didn't expect us to have so much fun!!! I took him to where the water spurts up out of the ground and he kept trying to catch the water!! I know he will love the pool this summer. Needless to say we were pretty wet after playing it in for awhile. We strolled through the park and then we went and ate a quick bite outside at The Grove Restaurant right there at Discovery Green. He enjoyed people watching and then when my food came he wanted some of my ceviche SO BAD but instead I gave him a spoon to lick on which I squeezed some lemon juice on for him to try for the first time and he just kept licking and licking and licking it! I couldn't quit laughing and I think people were starting to think something was wrong with me!! Haha!!

On Saturday Jaxton turned 7 MONTHS!!! Holy Cow!!! Ross and I took him to Memorial City mall to ride the Carousel for his first time. By the time the 2 minute ride was over Ross and I needed barf bags!!! We were so nauseated BUT it didn't seem to affect Jaxton at all... he just held on real tight to his horse as it went round and round and round!! That night we took Jaxton to where Ross and I would eat sushi ALL THE TIME before he was born. This was his first sushi outing and he LOVED it!! He even sported a sushi bib that was given to him by Ira and Carrie. We sat next to a fish tank and he watched the bubbles more than the fish. I guess he remembered them from Gymboree!! We tried to teach him how to use chopsticks but it just made him cross-eyed!! They had a country band playing there and Jaxton was mesmerized by the music and just stared at them as if he was trying to figure out how he could do it too!!

Jaxton has learned a few other things this week. He is now humming which sounds like Mmmmmmmm and he has a couple of times added an "a" to which it made the Ma sound...but only like two times!! He has been blowing so many raspberries (which sounds like he is making tooting sounds with his mouth and tongue) that he has a continuous flow of slobber all over his mouth and clothes!! Most of the lights in our house are on dimmer switches and Jaxton loves to press the switch and see the lights get brighter and dimmer ALL the time. He opens and closes ( with his eyes shut from the loud sound ) the microwave for all his meals I defrost and warm-up! Basically he has learned to press anything that will give him a response back! This week I pulled out his REAL highchair for him to enjoy his meals from and it is so AWESOME...comfy, comfy,comfy!!!! This week he tried Peaches...LOVED THEM...and another organic jarred food...chicken with apples and carrots....in which he was average on.

Since our "little"boy is becoming a "big" boy we bought a new diaper changer that matches our bedroom furniture because the diaper changer that we were using that is attached to his Pack-n-Play is now officially bent due to him being OVER the weight limit!!! Geez!! In about a month we are going to have to up-grade his car seat because he is getting was TOO long for the one he has now!!

Last BUT not least....he is getting ANOTHER TOOTH...but it's coming in much slower this time!! His top front tooth is trying to emerge...the gum is breaking down right now so he is biting EVERYTHING so you better watch out because his two bottom teeth are so sharp!!!

29 Weeks

Well at least Jaxton didn't sprout any more teeth this week!! I ended up having to get TWO crowns because I have grown two cavities under PREVIOUS porcelain filled teeth that had cavities there before. He said babies will do that to you sometimes especially BOYS...Whahh...he's worth it though!! AND I do have to get ALL my wisdom teeth out soon...so if after I seem like I lost a few brain cells just blame it on my "wisdom" they removed!!

Most of our week was me going back and forth to the dentist and then of course the torrential rains we had this weekend made us all have cabin fever!!

Jaxton had a Dr. apt with a dermatologist at Texas Children's in the MedCenter to evaluate if we should surgically remove his little strawberry birthmark on his tummy or just let it eventually fade away. Well it didn't take me long to decide this one after she said the word...GENERAL ANESTHESIA!!! No way would we ever put him under for something that is not life threatening even though she said his risk was the same as an adults...whatever! Maybe down the road we will reconsider!

This past week Jaxton only projectile vomited two times BUT I still didn't feel this was right so I took him to see his Pediatrician today and she said he could possibly have reflux so she wrote him a Rx for Zantac since insurance won't cover Prevacid until they fail Zantac. She said Zantac had a very bad taste and you have to give it 3xs a day where as Prevacid is Strawberry and you take it 1x a day but we will have to start with Zantac. So I went and filled the Rx and before I even gave him any I tasted a little first....OMG...it tasted like melted Band-Aids!!!! I knew he wasn't gonna like this so I put a Bumpkin Bib on him to catch what he was about to throw-up from the horrible GAG he was going to have from this Band-Aid medicine...and what a smart mommy I was...after two tiny squirts ( with many more to go ) he shook his little head back and forth and quivered from the nasty taste and spit-up what ever he had left in his tummy!! Whah!! So I will call her tomorrow and see if this means he has FAILED Zantac and can get Prevacid!!!

OH...and guess how much the little BOOGIE weighs now..18 lbs 12.8 ounces!!! You should see my Yoga looking arms these days...go figure!!

Other than that he has been doing really great!! He got his first paper cut this week and he didn't even cry like I would have!! I was reading him a new book his Aunt Laura gave him for Easter and it is kinda a big book with thin pages and he was flipping them so fast that one slithered across his BIG toe and I noticed him quickly looking down at his toe and grabbing it to look at the little blood that was seeping out! I was more upset than he was!

He is still making me get up at night a few times to flip him over to his back EVEN after I have seen him do it!! Hopefully he will start doing it A LOT more so I can get back to LaLa Land at night again!

Ross and I had to laugh the other day when we noticed that Jaxton MOMO's about 80% of the time when he has a diaper on with Cookie Monster on it...and so now ever time he has a MOMO we look and see if it was a Cookie Monster!!! Pretty Funny!!

This week I went to Whole Foods and broke down and got some jarred Organic baby food so he could try a meat...I wanted to see if he liked it before I made it homemade since it is a little more labor intensive..and what would you know...VEGETABLE TURKEY DINNER was a winner!! I guess I will be making a turkey BEFORE Thanksgiving gets here!!

This week Jaxton has continued to say Ba-Ba and we have even heard a Da-Da a few times but not consistently yet! He is really scooting more and more on his tummy and turning when he is raised up off his elbows. My time is limited before I have to put up ALL my candles...whahhhh!!

This week we are going to try Gymboree Learn&Play day to see if that would be something he would like to do every week. Hopefully so!! Then we both can meet new friends!!

Also Pottery Barn has Story time every Tuesday so we might pop in there too to see what that is all about!!

So this week I will pray that Jaxton flips over at night, doesn't get any new teeth and we meet some new friends!!

Just when Jaxton was starting to sleep better UP CAME ANOTHER TOOTH!! Now he looks like the Easter Bunny up-side down!! He is actually doing pretty good with this one and I am only giving him Tylenol and Hyland's Natural Teething Tablets at bed time. I still can't believe he already has 2 teeth...my little baby is growing up!! He now bites on his spoon when I am feeding him with those little chompers!!

So Jaxton tried some prunes this week and he liked them but I didn't give him too many because I didn't want him to get diarrhea!! He is doing great on LIKING all the new foods I am giving him BUT he has a HORRIBLE GAG REFLEX and has thrown up ALL of his meal and formula several times this week all over me and him!! I have learned to keep a blanket on hand now to catch what I can BUT he has made his mark on the patio furniture, his rocker and all over the breakfast room floor!! I am just having to really make his cereal THIN and make sure he has swallowed after every bite before he gets another one...GEEZ!!!! Other than that NO COMPLAINTS!!

He is still having a hard time rolling from his tummy to back so I am getting up 1 or 2 times at night to help him...BUT he does really like to play and sleep on his tummy now!!! Yea!! He has been scooting to get his toys more and more and is even doing lots of stepping!! He can now sit-up for a VERY LONG TIME and play and he likes it better than lying down...so much more to see that way!! And when he is lying on his back he squirms side to side like he is dancing BUT I think he might be a back crawler soon!!

The biggest milestone he hit this week has been his new word....BaBa!!! He says it all the time!! We are waiting to hear DaDa very soon...we think we heard it but not sure!! I am going to have to wait awhile for MaMa though...they say that is the hardest to say..Whahhh!!!

AND what would you know BUT I AM TEETHING TOO!!! After 33 years my Wisdom teeth have finally decided to make a presence..Whahhh!! I have a little pain and am going to the dentist on Wednesday to see if I have room for them because IF NOT they will have to come out and I REALLY don't want to go through all that!! So cross your fingers!!

This week we had so much fun with our friends Andy and Donna who came to Houston from California with their new daughter Julianna ( 3 months old). Ross, Jaxton and I went to dinner with 12 other people at the new Benjy's on Washington Tuesday night and had a blast!! Jaxton truly LOVED Benjy's.....I think he liked the ambiance!! He didn't make a peep and just played at the table and looked all around at everyone! On Wednesday we had girls night with the babies at Susan's house. When it was picture time with Julianna the cutest thing happened. When we sat them next to each other Jaxton immediately put his arm around Julianna's neck so gently and posed for many pictures....WHAT A GENTLEMAN!!! ( Look at pic above closely )

On Thursday Jaxton and I went with my Mom out to Brookwood for lunch and plant shopping...he just loves plants but I told him if he pulled on these ones we would have to buy them all!!

On Saturday Ross and I attempted to take Jaxton out Hwy 290 to get some pictures in the Bluebonnets BUT when we got there Jaxton was SO SLEEPY and didn't want to smile ( which is the first!) AND MY CAMERA WOULDN'T WORK...Whahh!! So we will head out there again this week!!

Then of course Sunday was Jaxton's 1st Easter and he was so excited when he got up that he could barely wait to see what the Easter Bunny left him ! He was having so much fun with all his new stuff that he went down for his nap 30 minutes earlier!!! We headed over to my sister's where she prepared a wonderful dinner from Southern Living magazine..YumYum...and lots of hard work!! And since Lent was now officially over Ross and I indulged in WAY TOO MANY desserts!!! My Aunt Janine's Carrot Cake and my sister's Strawberry cupcakes were HEAVEN!!!Jaxton played all day and took only a 20 minute nap while we ate...good boy!! He even got a special treat when his MeMaw played her Harmonica for him. She played " At the Cross" and "Jesus Loves Me" which we all know is one of his favorite songs!! It was priceless and we got it all on video!! When we got home we all zonked out pretty quick after such a busy and fun week!!
