Basically the past couple of weeks we have just been amazed at watching Jaxton finally crawling. He absolutely LOVES it and is checking out every room in the house. We are in the midst of baby proofing BUT I had pretty much known we were going to have children one day so all the furniture we bought has round edges!! They only thing I have to say bye-bye to for now is my plants (except a few I left and he will just have to learn NO-No!!) AND CANDLES!!! He is pulling himself up on everything and has gotten really good in just a couple of days! About 3 days after he started crawling he started lifting his legs making huge stepping movements...I think he is going to walk really soon....and I think he wants to too!! We have taken it pretty easy these last few weeks. I went and met a few of my girlfriends for dinner with Jaxton and he got to meet another new friend too...Rex! Hopefully they will become really good friends as they get to really know how to play with each other! We have been taking Jaxton to the pool and then we blew up another pool I forgot we bought him this summer....he is a WATER FREAK!!!! We went and met one of my good friends, Aubrey, with her husband and little boy Harrison at The Rain Forest Cafe at the Galleria. Now that our boys are finding their independence it is very hard to get them to sit still for ANY period of time so the husbands made numerous trips around the restaurant showing them all the animal scenes and noises and us girls wished we would have ordered wine!! Ha!!
We had our last day of BabySigns Class and they threw a Birthday Party for Bebo the BabySigns Bear and Jaxton and Santiago had on the exact same outfit that day!! TOO Funny!

We even took our first trip to the Children's Museum which was pretty fun BUT I just knew we were going to catch germs there and get sick AND WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW???? I started feeling yucky first then Jaxton got it then Ross had it...just a terrible cold!! I even took him to the Dr. because he had fever, an EXTREMELY runny nose ( the worst yet ) and his eyes just looked glazed over BUT all tests came back fine and she ruled it a virus which made us stay home all of last week...YUCK!!!! But we did buy some NEW TOYS to help keep him entertained all week!! It was his 10 Month Birthday too so we had to celebrate that as well!! His thing this past week has been to squint his eyes closed and make a semi-cry ( totally fake) when he falls down just to make sure we know he fell!! He has so many bruises all over him and we have had 4 Bloody mouths this past week!!! He has finally figured out how to fall better now and he even stands without having to hold onto anything ( but he is still leaning on things to keep him from tumbling down). He also now hands you things and then we of course say THANK YOU...over and over again!! But one of the funniest things he did this past week was when I put the pack-n-play in the bathroom for the 1st time so I could shower ( since he completely turned himself over in the bouncer seat trying to reach for a fallen toy) and when he fell in it....his bottom bounced ( unlike hitting hard on the floor ) and he immediately stood up and started jumping in the pack-n-play...Hillarious!!! What a Smart Cookie!! He has been eating REALLY good and sleeping better now that his cold is over BUT he does have MORE TEETH on the bottom coming in and is eating his hands all up...BUT there is not a teether to be found that he will chew on!!!! He has been attempting to eat the furniture BUT he hears a NO-No for that and then he just smiles at us like it is funny!!

This past Saturday we took Jaxton to his friend's Zane's Birthday party where they had a REAL FIRE TRUCK there and he LOVED it...sirens and all!! He sat and played in the cabin of the truck and wanted to touch everything! It was alot of fun!! I just wish he knew his 1st Birthday is less than 2 months away and I have been being a busy bee with all that...SO EXCITED!!!

After he turns 1 on September 25th I have decided to up-date his blog once a month on the 1st of each month so stay tuned for more fun and Bumps and BRUISES!!!

We spent all week working on crawling at class and at home and FINALLY we have FORWARD MOTION!!! It happenend while Jaxton & I were in Galveston with my Mom ( Grammy ) for a couple of days. I guess all the new surroundings made him really want to explore. He is definitely not a Pro yet but this is BIG progress!!

Ever since he had his 9th month check-up ( about 2 weeks ago ) I have been trying to fulfill the Dr's orders and give him more formula ( like 32 oz a day) BUT it had gotten to a point where Jaxton was denying ANY FOOD...obviously he was so full from ALL the formula! So I called a very reliable friend (Aubrey) who has a baby boy the same age and she confirmed that was WAY TOO MUCH and that the WHO Organization says around 16 oz a day and no more than 24 oz a day is what they really need since we are trying to move them onto a food diet than merely just a formula diet. SO I tried to rework his routine and what would you know....he has started to eat his meals again and take his formula after them but just not as much!! Am I happy now or what???!!!! Back to some freaky colored MOMO's again!!

Ross left Friday for San Antonio to play golf all weekend with some of his guy friends and Jaxton & I left on Sunday to go to Galveston with my Mom for a few days. It had been awhile since my Mom and I had some girl time together ( you have to realize before I got married that we did ALOT together) so this was very special to us. We arrived down at Galveston on Sunday afternoon and checked into the San Luis hotel which by the price you should know it is really nice so you expect things to be highclass and all...BUT this day there was a FRAT party at the pool/H2O Bar which lasted until at least 10 pm that night!! And just to let you know we had a room that overlooked the pool so you know we were NOT HAPPY with all the Michael Jackson Lyrics being boomed out until late night with these people who were NOT even PAYING to stay here!! Thank goodness we decided we were doing the pool thing on Monday and Tuesday anyways because it was so much quieter the next couple of days and relaxing!!

We headed down to the Strand on Sunday and we AMAZED at how few shops were actually open and TOTALLY SHOCKED by all the dead oak trees lining all the beatiful old streets down there...come to find out the salt water from the Hurricane had killed them....very EERIE!! Needless to say we didn't stay long down there. We headed to dinner at Marios's and ate some good Italian food and then headed back to the hotel to chill out.

We all woke up at Jaxton's rise and shine time of 6:30 am and ate and then headed to the beach for his 1st time. It was a perfect time to go down there because NO ONE was there yet and the beach was freshly scraped and most importantly it was COOLER!! I couldn't believe how much Jaxton actually liked the saltwater and the sand! He was ready to leap out into the great big ocean! He just kept rubbing the sand between all his fingers and just up until now he had never mouthed many things BUT he was able to get a few grains of sand into his chompers before I whisked his hand away!! The rest of the day we played at the pool. We all got dressed and Jaxton was in total need of a nap so while he slept in the truck Mom and I drove down the coast to look at what devastation was still left from the Hurricane....and there still was even after almost 10 months later...kinda depressing and sad!! SO we hurried off to Willie G's and enjoyed some good seafood BUT after Jaxton ate ALL his dinner I gave him some Puffs to munch on and what would you know??>>>> he got one stuck right in the middle of his tongue and he thought he was choking so he decided to throw-up ALL his food and the Puff at the table!!! Thank goodness I caught most of it and had a change of clothes with us...poor little guy!! No more PUFFS for him...they are just too little!! We left dinner and headed to the Rain Forest Cafe Adventure Ride which was pretty cool. You get in a big raft that has seats in it which floats on a pathway of water through the rain forest where all the animals are roaring and hissing and lots of jungle noises! Jaxton loved it but the 5 year old boy that was in our raft with us was crying the whole time...poor kid!!! We headed back to the hotel after raiding the gift shop and we sat out by the pool to enjoy the pleasant evening. Jaxton entertained us with some dance moves to the Michael Jackson music they were STILL PLAYING!

We had worn Jaxton out so much already he slept until 7:30 am on Tuesday morning!! We had breakfast in bed and then we headed back to the pool for a couple more hours until Jaxton was eagerly ready to take his morning nap!! So I headed back to the room to put him down and shouldn't of left my MOM alone because when she came back to the room she had fresh bruising on her left hand and I am sure on her buttocks too!! She slipped coming out of the pool and apparently she had not been the only one that happened to in that particular place...geez!!

Jaxton kept snoozing while we packed up all our Sheesh...which was definitely more than we came with and then we headed back home....all the while thinking how quick the time had flown and wishing we were away for a few more days!!!
