LAST CHECK-UP!!!!

Well Ross and I had our last check-up appointment yesterday!! I didn't gain any weight so throughout my pregnancy I have gained a GRAND TOTAL of 29 POUNDS so far!!! I weigh exactly 150 POUNDS....gosh....that sounds like so much!!!! We found out that I am still 2 cm dilated which means she will wait until Monday, September 29th to induce me UNLESS he decides to come before then!! Yea!! I really hung low this past weekend because I truly wanted to go as near to 40 weeks as possible with a boy....and I guess Jaxton thinks the same!!! ALSO....I get a few more days of SLEEP and CHILLIN' OUT time before our lives completely change!!! We walked outside last night and that was a sight...I waddled and had to stop a few times from nerve pains in my upper legs because he is pressing on them and a few contractions!! What will it feel like to run again???? Can't wait!!

She wants to induce me so that he doesn't get too big that he won't fit through my pelvis....THAT'S A-OK with me!!!! Actually September 29th was the original due date for him back when all this started!! I will be 39 weeks by then!!

So Monday morning I will be admitted to Memorial City Hospital at 5am where she said I can get comfortable and take a nap since it is so early...Yea right....nap?? I will be WAY TOO EXCITED to NAP!!! She will then break my water and get me hooked up to an IV to start my contractions and go from there. She thinks he will be born sometime around 3:15 p.m.

My Mom has been carrying around a cooler full of Champagne waiting for the moment I call her to tell her I'm in labor....she's way too excited too!!!! She and I are both PLANNERS so maybe this PLANNED induction is exactly what we needed!!!

I did something yesterday that I thought I would never do....I hired a MAID service!!! I figured as much as I like my house to be so tidy and clean I needed to take that pressure off of myself so I can really enjoy being a Mom...not to say that I won't get that Pledge can still and run over a few items...I think I actually have Pledge that comes out of my fingers like Mary Poppins with the orange juice and milk!! HAHA!! It was pretty funny though because she said my house was "so clean" and when she rubbed her finger across the baseboards to see how bad they were...to her surprise....she couldn't find any dust particles!!!! We laughed!!! Okay I know, I'm a little OCD when it comes to having things be clean BUT it makes the house feel so refreshing!!! She will be really helpful after our parties though!!!

I also cooked all day on Monday so I could freeze some good cooked food if for some reason I am too tired to get into the kitchen!! Ha!! At least it's football season and Grillin' time for Ross!!!

Well our bags are packed, the cameras charged up, the car seat installed, toes painted, baby stuff all washed and ready to be put to the test, champagne on ice ( thanks again MOM ), and last but not least we are pretty well rested!! So let the GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!!!

Incredible Week!!!

Just to look back from one week from today and think about all that has happened is astounding!! What a ride we had from Hurricane Ike!! Fortunately for Ross and I we only had some wind damage to our roof and no power for about 6 hours...unlike everyone of our friends and family who have had no power until yesterday and some still without. We were lucky out here because we have no large trees and our power lines are underground. As for the night of the storm, I thought I was Dorothy in the beginning of the movie The Wizard of Oz!! As much as I am a weather freak, I was truly nervous during this one. The winds were howling for 12 hours straight here as was the continuous pouring down of the rain which I believe we received around 9 inches out here!! As I looked out of my window in almost complete darkness throughout the night all I could get a glimpse of was the small trees we have out here just bending straight to the east. All I kept thinking as my belly was aching was "Please Jaxton.....just stay in there a little longer!!!" Just to look at the pictures of the incredible devastation South Texas has endured is enough to make your heart skip a beat!!

The pictures above can give you a little reminder of how lucky we all our to be alive and unharmed!!

So I called my Dr. yesterday morning to see if I would still have my check-up today and they were up and running at Memorial City with full power. Ross and I were SURPRISED to learn that I had already dilated 2 cm!!! This means that my body is preparing for labor as I write this!! After her exam of me, which was not pleasant at all, I had more contractions that ever!! I guess she just irritated my cervix a little!! She said for me to come back next Tuesday to see if I have dilated anymore....if I haven't gone into labor by then!! She said if I am still the same that she would let me continue to ride this out BUT if I was 3-4 cm she would more than likely check me into the hospital that Thursday ( Sept. 25 ) and I would probably have Jaxton that day!! We will just have to wait and see what he does. She did say though that I was very lucky to already have been dilated to 2 cm at 37 1/2 weeks and I would probably have a fast and easy labor. WHAT???? CAN YOU SAY THAT AGAIN??? FAST AND EASY!! She said this because my weight gain has been really good ( which by the way I GAINED another pound this past week ) and that I am in good shape along with all my vitals being in the normal range. We will just have to see if this all comes to fruition!!!

Also surprisingly, Ross and I had our last class to attend last night...Infant CPR!!! We were so glad to have taken the class and feel much more prepared in case of an incident!!!

Well I guess now we just wait around to see if my contractions get stronger and shorter in duration and then OFF TO THE HOSPITAL WE GO!!! I can almost hear the Champagne Cork popping now!!!!!

4 More Pounds!!! And More Shower Fun!!!

Well I am officially now a "HOUSEWIFE"!!!....as Ross keeps referring to me as!! My last day of work was on Friday Sept 5th and this morning was the first time in many many years I could wake up slowly, stretch, roll-over for a few more minutes and then get up and have my coffee in my pajamas for as long as I want ...( I know this will change very soon but just let me indulge in the thought for a moment !) What a true blessing it is for my company to give me so much time OFF!!!

I am now 36 weeks and counting down to D-Day!! The little man sure has been giving me some pain lately....lots of punching and kicking!! I can truly tell he has gained some big time weight ( maybe all the 4 pounds I have gained over the last couple of weeks....I WISH!!) I am much slower now though since I can feel just about every movement he makes...he just doesn't have a whole lot of room to move around in there. My tummy is VERY tight but no stretch marks yet!!! He is going to be a night owl like me I think because I have had many nights lately where I have been wide awake at 3 am because he is dancing around and wants me to get up!! That's okay....there's a lot of creative thinking that takes place in those late night hours!!

My face has FINALLY cleared up and now I am FINALLY starting to have that PREGNANCY GLOW...well it's about time....9 months later!!!

The nursery is almost finished!! I got Jaxton's letters up....thank you Erin and Brent for the gift!! His mirror came in BUT was cracked so they picked it back up on Saturday and now I am waiting for the new one to get here. His chandelier is SUPPOSED to be processing in the warehouse so hopefully that will get here this week!! In reality though, Jaxton won't be in there for several months but it sure would be nice to have it done...( so I can cross it off my list )!!

On Saturday, my Mom's best friend, Betty and her two daughter's Jessica and Ashley, gave me a wonderful shower!! I had so much fun seeing ALL the girls and mom's I grew up with...LOTS of GOOD MEMORIES!!! Our street name was Park Villa so we have decided to officially be called "PVS"...Park Villa Sorority...until Ashley said that sounded like an STD!!!!! Too funny!!!

I will be seeing my doctor every week now on Wednesdays so look out for some up-dates here more often!! If you don't see an up-date then watch your phone for a text message....that means I have gone into LABOR!!!!
