For those of you that have never blogged...it does take time to sit down and write and I just finished Jaxton's up-date for his 6 months and some how IT GOT ERASED...Whahhhh!! So here it goes again!!!

Can you believe it has been 6 months since our little man has entered this world??? Time sure has flown by!! I have to make two comments from my last blog. First, I don' t think I explained the tee tee story enough for you to laugh and not gag!! Ross and I would not flush the toilet sometimes until Jaxton found sound asleep because he has deer ears like his mama BUT we have overcome than phenomenon and are now back to flushing the toilets!! I know...we were being extreme!! Second, we will NEVER leave our premises even if we can see and hear Jaxton on the monitor because my MOM made the suggestion just WHAT IF something else happened in another room and we couldn't get to Jaxton....BOY why didn't I think if that!!! MAJOR BRAIN FART!!! Thanks Mom for being my Mom!

Okay...on to our crazy week of him turning 6 months!!! He accomplished so many things this week it was truly unreal so here is the low down:

1. I have another confession to make...I have let Jaxton take many naps during the day in his swing listening to his Mozart...well the little guy loved it and would sleep for 2 hours sometimes BUT I know that he NEEDS to be in his crib even for nap time when we are home so I had to break the habit this week. We stayed home ALOT so I could put him down in his crib for his naps and break this habit and it was hard for the first two days and now he pretty much goes right down...thank goodness he gave in!!!

2. Jaxton was told by his Dr. at his 4 month check-up that he would be given NO formula during the night at 6 MONTHS and what would you know...a week before he turned 6 months he quit waking up wanting to eat...I think it has a lot to do with him eating solids during the day now because he would suck that bottle down during the night...SO WHAT DOES THIS FINALLY MEAN....a full night sleep for Mommy now!! WOW...6 months later!!!! So he goes to bed at 7 pm and doesn't get up until 6:15 to 7:15!!! Yea!!!

3. He finally found his feet and is GRABBING them and SUCKING on them....Ewww!

4. He started to snort and cough for new noises BUT now is making funny nosies with his lips and tongue ( kinda like raspberries ) and then he is even almost saying BaBa..he is trying really hard...I swear he will be saying something like that in no time!!

5. Even though he found his hands a long time ago...he has been looking at them in the air alot this week

6. He is still rolling over from back to tummy alot when on his play blanket and is now grasping for toys within reach and when he can't reach them he pushes that little bottom up in the air and scoots to try to get what he wants...he makes progress but not a whole lot!!
7. When he gets really excited he hits his fists against his belly...I guess he is trying to imitate a monkey since he likes them so much!!

8. FINALLY he has found out that he has to open his mouth WIDE to get that good homemade baby food....no more having to sing and make noises his whole meal time!!

9. Oh....the clogged tear duct that he has had since birth has FINALLY cleared up....either he has just out grown it or it is the carrots he ate last week....( My Chinese neighbor told me to boil carrots in water and then give him the water in a bottle and it would cure it...but I never did because I didn't want to give him water when he was so young BUT MAYBE SHE WAS RIGHT!!)

10. Jaxton can now sit unassisted for about 15 seconds or so then needs our help so he doesn't do a total faceplant!! Pretty soon he will be doing it all by himself!!

11. Lastly....Jaxton gave me a very very special moment this week....I was rocking him in the rocker and he was laying in my arms as I was singing him many new lullabyes and he just laid there looking at my eyes and mouth and listening to me sing for over 20 minutes then he went sound asleep!!! Awww!! He doesn't usually EVER sit still for that long!!

Since we were at home mostly this week we didn't do too much shopping around BUT on Saturday night Ross and I had a grown-up night and went out with my sister for her B-day...it was very nice to have a couple of hours as adults!! Ross's parents came over to babysit Jaxton for the first time and poor little guy was so upset that we left he wouldn't even take his bottle to go to bed ( poor Grandparents too!! ) But when I got home he woke up and smiled SO BIG and ate his bottle and went to sleep for the rest of the night... I guess sending him away to camp when he gets older might be out of the question...HAHA!!

AND FOR THE FINALE....he had his 6 Month check-up and came in at:

18 POUNDS ( 75th Percentile )

27 1/2 inches long ( 90th Percentile )

47.9 cm in head circumference ( OFF THE CHARTS - Einstein Percentile )!!!

After all the running around and shopping, Jaxton's day of Baptism finally came!! We woke up that morning and did our usual routine and then I got him all dressed up in his Baptism outfit...gosh did he just look extra handsome today!! I even used Aveda hairspray for the first time to tame his wild mohawk hair!! He was so concentrated on everything going on around him during the service and then it was time for us to stand up before the congregation and hand him over to Jim Jackson, the pastor, to Baptize our little precious man...when Jim held him up there he just looked all around and then when he turned towards us to put the holy water on his head Jaxton put on the biggest smile as he looked down at us...what a heart breaker!! He was just perfect up there!! Then I had to take him to the back room with the other little girl that got baptized because they were so excited they just wanted to talk out loud during the rest of the service!! We left the church to head back to our house where everyone came and celebrated in his BIG day and he stayed up the entire time not wanting to miss anything at his party..he was able to meet everyone!! Then we all crashed later that night!! Literally we were all in bed by 8 o'clock!!
So then came St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday and of course you know me and holidays...time for dress-up!!! He is alot more active now so I had to be extra quick with the camera...now I really need to buy that Nikon camera!!
This past week was one of not much sleep for Jaxton and I. He is NO LONGER in his SWADDLE!! He was Houdini too many times getting one or both arms out so I think he was telling me it was time to be FREE!!! Then he decided to start turning over from his back to stomach and when he was done sleeping on his stomach he hasn't quite figured out how to flip back over to his back ( which is actually supposed to be easier) so he cried out of frustration and I had to go in there to flip him back over. Every time I woke up to look at him in the monitor he was somewhere else in his bed!! So hopefully he will figure this out soon so we can go back to both of us getting a good night sleep.
PLUS he is having a growth spurt and just been eating a lot more formula!! I introduced him to carrots this past week and I think they may be his favorite veggie so far...they taste so sweet!! This next week he is going to try butternut squash...yum yum!!
Okay..I have something to confess...on Thursday my friend Noreen came over to have dinner and I helped her register on-line at Babies-R-Us. But before we had a very nice evening Noreen came upstairs while I was getting Jaxton ready for bed and we walked into one of the bedrooms where I had some of Jaxton's baby stuff he no longer uses that I was going to give her. I smelled something bad but tried to just ignore it not knowing what it exactly was then Ross came into the room and said "Oh my God...what is that smell?" A light bulb when off in my head in 5 seconds and I ran into the bathroom that is in that room and flushed the toilet!!! Apparently I had gotten up in the middle of the night a few nights ago and tee teed BUT FORGOT TO FLUSH!!! Ewwwwwwwwwwww!! I laughed about this until I fell asleep and then again when I woke up that morning!!
On Friday we went to meet my dear friend Cheri and her new baby boy Cooper for some shopping and lunch!! What a sweet boy Cooper is and he is already 11 pounds at 10 weeks...he's gonna be a big boy!! They are going to be moving to Dallas since her husband got a promotion...whah I will miss them...BUT it does give us an excuse to get out of Houston later on down the road when Jaxton likes riding in his car seat...YES he still doesn't like it for very long BUT the rate at which he is growing he will be out of it and into the bigger Britax seats which are not as tight and restraining...hopefully!!!
Saturday was Jaxton's first crawfish boil at our neighbor's house...since he is in the grabbing stage we had to be very careful when showing him the crawfish for his first time because he was so ready to grab and play with it!! We found out though that our baby monitor works all the way over in our neighbor's backyard so we were able to go hang out outside after Jaxton went night night and relax in this absolutely beautiful weather we have been having!!

24 Weeks !!

My first Play-date with ALL Boys...Yea!!! Mommy with her pretty friend Aubrey!!
Our Mom's must love stripes...BUT we do look Gooooood in them!! These are my buddies Harrison and Nathan ( yes..we are all looking at our own mommies !)

Dad .... it is way too funny you think I would ever go to Texas Tech!!

Because all I would ever get there would be a beer belly like this!!

This looks like the green slime from Nickelodeon...but Mom says they are just Peas!!

All my clothes that I have already outgrown since I have been born!!

Hey Mom... what are these...I never got to wear them!!

All I have to say about this whole entire past week is that Jaxton and I truly shopped til we dropped ( but we did wait until after his Baptism which I will talk about on the next blog post at then end of this week). Ross went out of town to Atlanta for training Monday through Wednesday and Jaxton and I took off to the stores...I was trying to get everything ready for his special day! We were even running around in all the horrible rain we had and at one point Jaxton was looking up into the sky trying to figure out what kept hitting his face...first time to feel raindrops falling on his face!
On Tuesday we went over to my girlfriends house ( Aubrey ) to have a play date with her son, Harrison, who is just a few days apart from Jaxton and her friend Lisa who has a son, Nathan, just a little bit older than the both of them. Jaxton enjoyed finally playing with some other boys but really liked Harrison's mommy...don't know if it was the hot pink sweat suit she had on or her pretty blond hair!! And it was good for me to talk to some other mommies too!! We are going to make sure we do this more often!
Wednesday morning ( before we left to shop ) Jaxton tried sweet peas for the first time and he seemed to like them too...hopefully he will continue to like his veggies!! This next week we are going to try carrots!! I am having to be very creative in my songs to get his mouth to open wide...BUT one song still works...The wheels on the bus go Round and Round BUT we have added two new verses: Jaxton on the bus goes toot,toot,toot....toot,toot,toot...Jaxton on the bus goes toot, toot, toot all day long AND Mommy on the bus says,"Lipstick please, lipstick please, lipstick please!!!"
Well this past week Jaxton FINALLY wanted his arms out of the swaddle but did wake himself up a few times during the night not knowing what to do with them BUT by the end of the week he figured out that he can touch and grab the bumpers in his bed so they may have to go soon!! Most of the time when I look at him on the monitor he looks like Jesus on the Cross with his arms spread way out to his sides ( freedom finally!!). On Monday before Ross left Jaxton turned over 3 times all by himself AND we were able to capture it on the video camera!! He hasn't done it much again BUT the past few nights I have seen him turn onto his side in his bed so I am sure we are just a few days away from him doing it all the time. He has been pulling his head up all this week too no matter where he is laying down...couch, floor ,my arms, high chair, car seat and stroller....he is getting so ready to sit up soon!!
And speaking of all the GRABBING he does now...every time I have given him a bath this week he GRABS his precious "Jewels"...I tell him "NO NO you can't just grab them you have to be very careful with them...BUT he just smiles back and grabs them harder...OUCHIE!!!!! Oh what I have to look forward to with a BOY!!

Week 23

My Pager at church waiting to go off if Jaxton needed us !!
Awesome Baby Food Maker...Yea!!

Mom...these sweet potatoes are soooooooo. Good..more..more..more!!

Look...a Frabbit!!! I love it when he "Ribbit's"

Eating lunch with Grammy at LaMadeline...love their classical music they pley here!!

We had a crazy week...felt like we were going backwards instead of forward this week!! Last Sunday was Jaxton's first time to stay in the nursey at church. They have plenty of swings and toys to play with and they dim the lights in there so it's more relaxing so I thought Jaxton would be just fine since he was ready for a nap anyways. They give you a vibrating pager to take with you in case your little one needs you ASAP. Ross and I went to service and I sat there waiting for the pager to vibrate BUT it did not so I figured he probably fell right to sleep...WRONG...they said they almost paged me because he was crying so hard but they gave him a bottle and changed swings and he finally fell asleep :( Poor little gut probably thought I we were leaving him for good!!! Hopefully he will get used to it the more he goes :) Unfortunately by Tuesday though he had picked up his second cold of his life and I was back again getting up several times at night with him because he was coughing on his mucus....I was very tired all week!! I even had to try to put him in a sleep sack because he is being Houdini AGAIN and getting his little arm out of the swaddle and waking himself up BUT he wanted NOTHING to do with the sleep sack and just wanted to be swaddled up again...Geez!! If he only new how he could sprawl out and chew on his hands whenever he wanted he would LOVE IT...I guess we are just going to have to wait this one out!!

Since he has had so much drainage AND on top of that chewing on his fingers so much and sticking them down his throat I have had formula ALL OVER me and him about 5 times this week!!! Yuck!!! We are having to pull his hands out of his mouth quite a bit after he eats so he won't do that!!

Well I finally gave him his first Veggie...sweet potatoes and he liked them!! I have figured out though I still need to make his cereal and veggies thinner with his formula so he doesn't gag and it all come back up!! The baby food maker was AWESOME!!! Very EASY and makes a great puree!! I highly recommend it!! I tasted the Gerber Organic Sweet Potatoes and they were NOT sweet AT ALL...YUCK YUCK YUCK...tasted like vinegar...so wonder babies prefer the fruits!! But the homemade sweet potatoes I made were truly sweet and FRESH!!! We are going to try peas this week!!!
On Tuesday Ross took care of Jaxton while I went to the Spring Market at church with my Mom and her friend Becky and I found so many cute things for Jaxton there. A lot of the women have neat businesses and most live out by me... so I can have them make stuff I need whenever!! :) I found a Frabbit for Jaxton and he loves it when it " Ribbit's"!!
On Friday I escaped and ran a few errands and got me hair highlighted and a few bangs cut back again...it has been awhile but I needed a change!! Grandma and Grandad came over to visit while Ross watched Jaxton and they played all afternoon. I heard Jaxton liked Grandad's watch alot...hopefully he won't be into too much jewelry!!

On Saturday we went and picked up his Christening outfit with my Mom and then went to eat at LaMadeline where he fell right to sleep because of the music they play in there that sounds like his Mozart cd's!!

This week Jaxton has learned how to reach for his toys and is really trying to flip over by himself...I think that will happen for sure this week!! He is still GRABBING for everything!!! So curious!!! I forgot to tell you he has been crossing his legs like his Daddy for a while now and it makes him look like an old man!! He is still squealing a whole lot but now makes many grunting sounds when he is frustrated, bored or just plain old tired...I thought he was trying to go MOMOM but it turns out it's just a new noise! His giggle is turning into some really hard laughs and we just can't wait to see what his voice is going to sound like!!

He seems like he is a very happy baby and I can't ask for anything more than that....that big ole' smile when he wakes up in the morning is enough to fill your heart for eternity!!
