Well just when I got Jaxton to sleep ALL night and everything is PERFECT....he pops his 1st tooth on April Fool's Day...too bad he didn't just have a falsey in there!! On April Fool's we went to meet one of my dear friends from Pfizer who had a baby last year too. This was their first time to meet! Taft, just a little over one, was such a great kid during our 2 1/2 hour lunch at Black Walnut Cafe...he just played and ate his food and his mommy's!! Jaxton was pretty good but then starting to fuss ( not cry though ) and just wanted to be held and fell fast asleep on my shoulder...which was weird because he just had a nap. We left there and went to Whole Foods to pick up some Organic Zucchini, Apples and bananas so I could make him some food. When we got to my mom's house I just decided to look in his mouth and the poor little guy's tooth was almost all the way through his gums!! So off I ran to get some baby Tylenol from the store and he woke up a couple times later that night needing more!! So my all nighters of sleeping are SO LONG for now...he only wakes up around 4 or 5 for some Tylenol and water in his bottle...which by the way he LOVES water and is even drinking it from his SIPPY CUP...I still have to help him get it to his mouth but he opens wide up and bites and sucks until he gets gulps of water!!!
So I think by Easter Sunday everyone will be able to see his FIRST PEARLY WHITE!!!!
He has been a trooper though and has continued to surprise with new things all week.
He can now sit-up totally unassisted for a LONG TIME....many many minutes while playing with his toys! He is strong enough now to lean forward and grab a toy and sit back up BUT if he leans too far back...he's down for the count!!
He is continuing to make tons of raspberry noises ( like a motor boat BUT with lots of spit flying in the air) and he thinks it is SO FUNNY!!! He can now flip over from his tummy to back but ONLY when he really wants too...like in bed at night cause no one is there to help...Yeah though!!! His favorite game right now is Peek-a-Boo and we can get some of the best laughs out of him!! I have to say one thing about ALL his toys...even his Jumperoo...he is so particular and will look at every detail of every toy and then seems to master it quickly as to what he is supposed to do with it....even his non-toys..for example...I noticed him looking back over his shoulder everytime I pressed the garage door opener on the wall to watch the garage door either open or close. So I then put his finger up to the opener and helped him press it to show him that is what it does...so NOW..EVERYTIME we leave or come home his little hand is already reaching for the opener before I even get there and then he presses it ( I do have to help him push hard enough) and then he watches the door open or close!! I guess he is learning the Cause and Effect Principle!! Amazing!!
At night when he is on the changing table and is about to get his pj's on I have a rabbit up there that says "Jesus Loves Me" on it and it sings that song and he LOVES to hear it about 5 times as we are getting his pj's on with a big ole smile!!! But I will tell you when he puts on the BIGGEST smile I have ever seen him do is in the morning after I change his diaper on the changing table I stand him up and say "Ta-Da" and he puts this smile on that literally goes from ear to ear and looks all around his room like he is in front of an audience and he is a Celebrity or something...it's HILARIOUS!!! But PRICELESS!!!
Okay....I have finally learned not to pick him up fast after he has eaten and laid down on his back to play on his playmat because I did the other day and just down on the couch and I saw his eyes get watery and red and was only fast enough to keep the vomit from spraying all over the room BUT it did go ALL over me and Jaxton so we ended up having to take our first bath together.....we were a MESS and Ross was not here to help with towels!!! He liked the BIG BATH!!
On Friday Ross took the day off and I went and got a massage and then he played golf in the afternoon. I think that is the first time I have laid down and not moved for an hour during the day in 6 months!!! I'm going to have to schedule those more often!! Golf = Massage!!!
On Saturday we had some friends, Grant, Rob and Traci and their 9 month old little boy,Asher, and he was showing Jaxton how to use all his toys and especially how to jump like a crazy kid on caffeine in his Jumperoo..it was too funny!! Jaxton just stared and watched very intently at everything he did!! We cooked some great steaks and I celebrated my last Pfizer Bonus check I received on Friday!!
This week I introduced Jaxton to a few more foods: he had bananas ( which he likes with his cereal), zucchini ( which he loved too ) and mixed cereal ( which he was average on because it is kinda gooey!!) So far so good on him taking his solid foods...I'm still waiting for him to totally HATE a food...But maybe I will be lucky and he won't since it is all homemade!!
Next week we have some very dear friends coming in from California so we will have lots to talk about then!! Maybe even another tooth!!!
