Even though we all still have been feeling crummy ( Geez this is taking forever to go away !) we did everything we had planned for Mother's Day weekend anyway!!
On Thursday night we were FINALLY able to go stay the night at my Mom's house. We did our usual trip to Babies R Us first and then headed to Grammy's! We went on a stroll around the neighborhood and talked to a few old neighbors. When Grammy got home from work she had bought Jaxton his first "Cars" lawn chair ( when I was growing up we used to sit out in the front yard all the time in our chairs talking with our neighbors and playing so he had to be inducted!)Jaxton had not been sleeping very well but what would you know....HE WENT RIGHT TO SLEEP AND SLEPT ALL NIGHT!!!! I couldn't believe it! Thank Goodness!!
On Friday we headed up to meet Ross and his Mom for lunch at Tommy Bahama's in the Woodlands she could celebrate Mom's day with Jaxton. Lunch was great and then Grandma took us to some cool stores up there that I will have to go back too!!!
Saturday was our day as a family to celebrate my 1st Mother's Day and we planned a day at Moody Gardens. Jaxton slept most of the way down there and back with a bottle to soak up the rest of the car trip. We took him to the Aquarium where he couldn't keep his head still from looking at all the exotic fish swimming all around. Then we headed over to the Rainforest where he had a good time touching all the plants &trees..it is good for him to feel different textures..and there was plenty of them there!!! We walked outside along the ocean and took in a few of the sun's rays and then we headed back home. He was pretty worn out!! When we got home Ross gave me some Sapphire earrings in honor of Jaxton's birthstone for Mother's day. What a thoughtful and memorable gift I thought that was!!
On Sunday Ross went to spend the day with his Mom and sister in Conroe and I went and had brunch with my sister and Mom at Mockingbird Bistro. Not long after we got there and had ordered our "expensive" ( didn't really have a choice there ) champagne Mom wasn't watching Jaxton's little exploratory hands and WHACK!!! down goes Mom's glass of champagne all over my sister who was wearing a brand new SILK DRESS!!!! Plus glass went flying everywhere!! Geez!! I'm sure that won't be the first!! Jaxton also tried to sit in a highchair for the very first time and was okay in it for awhile...will have to bring a few more toys to keep him entertained!!
Other than that we had a GREAT 1st MOTHER's DAY!!
