Just a few days after the New Year Jaxton shocked us one day when he blurted out

BAS-KET-BALL !

We couldn't believe it and were so happy when he said it in front of our friends so no one would think we were crazy! Now he says it all the time and MANY MANY other words but that is his 1st 3 syllable word! His vocabulary is expanding so fast! Too bad the tantrums are too!!! I guess you get the GOOD with the BAD!!

My Mom surprised Ross and I with a Marriage Course at our church for any couples just married or who even have been married for 60+ years! It is for 7 Sundays from 5:30 to 7:30 with a candlelight dinner every night while you listen to the speakers and then you do several exercises during the evening. We laugh ALOT because we know each other pretty well BUT at the same time it has given us good ideas to implement....especially now that we have a baby in our marriage! So my Mom comes over to babysit and off we go for an evening of learning more about each other....I think all couples should do this....it really makes you take time out to strengthen your relationship!

I had my 6 month breast check-up from the scare I had last summer and everything is OK!! THANK GOD AGAIN!!!

We left for Tyler to visit Ross's sister and family and Jaxton enjoyed a weekend just hanging out with his cousin's and dancing for his Great Grandma! Ross enjoyed singing and playing guitar with his cousin Jonathan at his Grandma's house in Longview....Jonathan had the whole living room set up for a concert and Jaxton wanted to be a part of every bit of it!! We will just have to wait to see if he is talented enough to be the lead singer!!

But one very sad incident happened when we were driving home. There was a man in a BMW who had passed us on the road and then proceeded to let another car know that his gas tank was open...very nice. Then there was some HEAVY LOAD trucks ahead of us that we all ended up passing and then the road opened up so you could get back up to the speed limit again. The BMW flew ahead of us....and then we came up on the worst scene a few minutes later. The man in the BMW was on the left side of the road with his car smoking and air bags deployed and another car on the opposite side of the road doing the same thing...BUT it was almost completely silent because it JUST HAPPENED. Ross and I were STUNNED and both of our stomachs were in our throats. We couldn't believe the man we just saw a few minutes ago was more than likely dead. Several people got out of their car to help and call the police. We ended up leaving since we had Jaxton in the car and didn't want to stay too close just in case those cars were to blow up. We just prayed silently for them as we drove away. :(

I took Jaxton to Discovery Green on Martin Luther King Jr. day since it was a warm and beautiful day FINALLY!!! He enjoyed all the waterfalls and just runnin' around outside after all these cold and rainy days we have had.

Last week we decided to leave Gymboree for awhile and start going to the Little Gym. I knew he would love it now since he is so active and sure enough he ran around like a wild Indian and enjoyed meeting new friends.

Jaxton loves going to playdates as well so I am going to hold my very first playdate at our house for Jaxton and we are going to make it into a Valentine Party for the kiddos....so stay tunned for some great pics hopefully!!

Ross is in New Orleans all week for work and we decided to visit some of our friends this weekend so Jaxton and I will be flying over there on Friday. We can't wait to see all the craziness going on now that the SAINTS are going to the Superbowl for the 1st time EVER!!!
