and my cousin Ashlyn
Well Hurricane Alex put a change in our plans for the holiday weekend with all the rain in brought us. We were supposed to stay downtown at the Hilton of Americas all weekend and play down there and see the largest land firework show BUT instead we decided to postpone it until Labor Weekend and hung out at home. Fortunately we always have a great firework show right out in our backyard....we can view at least a half dozen different firework shows BUT they went to 2 am this year...GEEZ. Unfortunately Jaxton wanted nothing to do with the fireworks and finally calmed down when I said they were " Big Candles"...poor baby!
We went to the pool and played in our own pools and visited an indoor play land called Itz for fun. Jaxton was able to slip on some rides you had to be 36" to ride and LOVED them....no fear!
BUT he has developed a fear of 2 things over the past few weeks all of a sudden....weird. The first one is the blender in the kitchen....I guess it just sounds scary! So I finally had to put it away when he was so upset that he threw up all over me and his "b-2-b" ( aka...his blankie). From this eveny I also found out that he is for sure not color blind ( even though he knows all his colors) because I have 2 blankies that are the same but one always stays in his bed and is green and the other one is always with him and it is blue. So when we had to throw his "blue b-2-b" in the washing machine and I tried to put him to bed with just the green blankie he cried and we had to wait for it to wash and dry and then off to dream land he was! I'm now going to purchase an extra "blue b-2-b" and hide it away for emergency situations like this!
The second thing he has come to fear is my deer head that has hung on the wall upstairs since we moved in and that we say " nite, nite Mr.Deer, see you in the morning" every night since I can remember. Maybe he is becoming more aware of things all around him now.
One thing is for sure though....he is growing up really fast! His feet have grown again and now he is wearing a size 7 !!! Help ! I'm going broke on shoes for a BOY!!!
His vocabulary seems to increase each day and now he is starting to make short sentences....
He is into closing the doors now and repeats what I have told him many times, " Watch your toes, watch your BINGERS ( aka fingers....his b's are his f's )
And when he has done funny stuff or dangerous stuff I guess I have said Jaaaax-ton so many times he now says Jaaax-ton when he does those things...funny!
He loves to say " Mom-mie get it" for when I say Mom-mie will get it .
And when Ross has told Jaxton No-No he always tells me later on " Dada say No-No"
And last but not least, he now will say " Time-Out" when he knows he shouldn't be doing something! LOL
The only time I have given him time-outs on the stair is when he has climbed onto our kitchen dining table and broke my candle stick in half....which I'm not worried about the candlestick but I am worried about how much pledge is on that table and he will slip right off onto the tile and crack his head open! He is a climber!
He has also started to hit us a tiny bit....and it's not to be mean...it's like he is trying something new BUT the other day when he got up from his nap ( which he needs a few minutes to fully wake up) Ross came over to us on the couch starting to poke him and Jaxton came out with the loudest SMACK across Ross's cheek....he was very embarrased when he did it because he knew Ross was upset by the look on his face....hopefully he will go through that phase really quickly!!!
One new phase, which has now lasted 3 weeks, really since we got home from SA, has been to wake up several times at night crying until I go up there and hug him and rearrange his b-2-b and then he goes back to sleep...not sure what this is all about...maybe his last molars....cause I know he is not sick. Again, hopefully another phase I hope that is short lived because it is making me EXHAUSTED!
Two weeks ago I took Jaxton to the Cypress Fleet Swim Club for swim lessons. As we all know his LOVE for the water, I was shocked to find out he was not in love with swim lessons at all. He cried the entire 30 minutes saying "Bye-Bye"...I was so sad for him. So today I took him back for the second time to see if he would be different ( which I already knew what the out come would be) and this time he started to cry right when we walked in so we walked right back out and I decided to wait for next year when hopefully he would have fun at them!
And LAST but NOT AT ALL THE VERY LEAST, Jaxton took his 1st MOMO in my bath tub!!!
You should have seen Ross fetching it out! His first comment was " It stinks!" and then as he tried to get more he was screaming " it's all fallin' apart"! I think Jaxton was very proud!
