Smile!
Our last night :(
"No sweat kid"....when she gets sad!
So I tried to put the flowers back so we could leave them
And I touched the "Cross" and said "Amen" for her Dada
Then we came home and I showed Mom-mie my new dance move again...
And she was sure smiling again!!!!
We left last Wednesday to head down to San Antonio for a nice few days of relaxation....we all needed it! We stopped at the Westin on the Riverwalk first to just get down there and relax for a night before we headed over to the new JW Marriott in the Hill Country for the rest of our vacation! Some of our closest friends joined us for the vacation too...Cheri, Nathan, Cannon and Cooper! Ross's sister's family was there too and his Mom and Dad joined us on Saturday for a little Father's day dinner that night!
Jaxton hasn't stayed in a hotel since his 1st birthday so he was thrilled to have a place to call his own! We immediately had to unplug the phone, alarm clock and put our luggage in front of the mini-refrigerators! I even brought plug protectors so Ross and I could just sit back and watch him enjoy the room all to himself and he did!
We pretty much were in our bathing suits the ENTIRE vacation which was GREAT.... no bras, no underwear, no make-up and no having to get all dressed up!! The Marriott was amazing! Lots of pools, lazy river, slides and great food ! Ross enjoyed the golf course while I enjoyed the spa for a bit. Jaxton just enjoyed being in his "swim suit" and "swim diaper" the entire time!
He loved the water and truly has no fear which is good and bad! We count, " One, two.." and Jaxton replies with " Freeeeee "( aka Three) and jumps in! He will put his own face underwater over and over again...it's hilarious! He doesn't like floaties or life savers very much at all so that is why swim lessons are right around the corner!!!
Of course no one ever sleeps great in a hotel room and neither did any of us BUT that didn't seem to stop us at all...thank goodness! I just woke up every morning to Jaxton saying" nice toot"after he toots....what a guy he already is!!!
Sunday we headed back home and Jaxton took the longest car nap on record....2 1/2 hours!!! Poor little boogie was exhausted!
Of course it's Father's day and my dad unfortunately is not here but I celebrate him everyday. I was very blessed to have one of the very best dad's in the world and am saddened by the fact that Jaxton will never really know him. I took Jaxton out to Memorial Cemetery where my Dad is buried and enjoyed a moment to talk about my Dad and his Grand Papa to him....he loved all the flowers and vases everywhere and that made me smile while he was exploring. It made the cemetery more fun today...thank you Jaxton. But that wasn't the only glorious moment of the day...as soon as I got back into the car with Jaxton the radio was on ( which it never really is because I play CD's mostly)...and the song came on that was played at my Dad's funeral that my Dad said was his song while he was sick....The River by Garth Brooks.....at that moment I felt my Dad was right there with me and I know that was a sign from him today....it just took me a minute to realize that I am never without him! Thank you GOD for my Dad and for Jaxton's Dada!
