Weeeeeee.....
Well this was a week of celebrations!!! Ross's mom came over Tuesday and I cooked her dinner for Mother's day and then on Wednesday we celebrated Cinco de Mayo by going to the park and then headed out to eat some good ole' mexican food at Don Julio's where Jaxton had a blast playing with our beer and margarita glasses...thank goodness he's only old enough for water in them! Then on Thursday I took Jaxton out to where we got married again like I did last year and just reminisced about that day 4 years ago....what warm feelings you feel when you are back in a place where something so special happened :) Ross and I celebrated that night with a steak dinner on the back porch and just relaxed.
We had a celebration break on Friday so I took Jaxton to the Houston Museum of Natural Science for the Bug and Butterfly exhibit and was so amazed to see and feel thousands of butterflies flying all around you. Jaxton LOVED the waterfalls and of course the flowers everywhere. We grabbed some McDonald's ( which I haven't eaten in I know probably 20 years...seriously) because that is all that was there and then headed over to ride the train again. As we were heading back I noticed Jaxton's head bobbing around as I was pushing him around in his car and bent down to remove his sunglasses and the poor little guy was trying to fall asleep! I guess I truly wore him out this time...so I carried him all the way back to our car and he never moved!
Saturday we drove up to Conroe and visited Ross's mom and sister for Mother's day. The kids enjoyed playing outside and Jaxton became obsessed with the neighbor's dryer vent on the outside of the house and kept saying.."hair dryer"! And when he saw Me-maw's toes he said "Ewwwww"...LOL! All the grandkid's call Ross's Mom Me-maw but Jaxton has decided to call her Me-moo!!! :)
Then finally Sunday arrived.....the last day of celebration!! :( We relaxed around the house in the morning and Jaxton feed the baby ducks his Chex cereal.....or at least the ones he wasn't putting into his mouth! Then late afternoon we headed over to my grandma's house...G.G's...which Jaxton does call her that. He ran around her house investigating everything so then we finally took him over to the park across the street to rid some of that energy. We didn't know what Jaxton was going to call my Aunt Janine but when we told him she was a principal ( and we only said it ONCE) he kept calling her prin-ci-pal over and over...so I guess that will be her name for now! And by the way he knows my sister has dogs and when he talks to her on the phone he calls her "PUPPY"...so she just might be Aunt Puppy!
Well after a long week of celebrating I am truly thankful for GOD giving me the name "MOM"
What an absolute blessing Jaxton is in all of our lives.
