So it's been a whole MONTH since I have updated his blog so let me get started!
Jaxton is now trying to push through 5 teeth...2 of which are molars....and you can just tell he is in pain when those big blue eyes get all red and watery...poor little guy! At least he is almost done! His vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds everyday and will mimic just about every word you tell him...lately his favorite word is "Octagon"...he finds them everywhere and gets so excited! He knows just about all the shapes and all his body parts including his cheek, chin and knee, and he is working very hard on his colors with blue being his favorite! I don't think many minutes go by that he is not babbling or talking...it's so amazing!
His favorite things to do these days other than talk is to "DRIVE" anything he can and to be OUTSIDE as much as he can! He loves to go through my make-up everyday when I am getting dressed and has learned what each piece is for by mimicing where it goes...too funny!!
We are having so much fun seeing him grow-up into a little boy with such a personality...I know it's just gonna get better and better each day!
Well this past month we have been pretty busy. We started it off with yet another SNOW DAY...that's 3 times this year!! Ross keeps saying," So much for Global Warming!" LOL!
We drove down to Discovery Green when Ross read in the newspaper that the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses were gonna be there! Jaxton had a ball just running around and going down all the slides and was mesmerized like us with the HUGE horses...and they let us get right up next to them...pretty cool!
Jaxton had his 1st piece of Godiva chocolate and kept saying and signing " MORE"...I couldn't resist so he had "MORE!" I bought him a new pair of Nike tennis shoes and he has literally fallen in LOVE with them...we call them his "SWOOSHES". He gets so excited toput them on them just RUNS!!
Ross's Aunt Julie came to visit us with her husband, Barton, who has been receiving chemo treatments here in Houston at MD Anderson. They live in the Davis Mountains and we were very excited for them to finally meet Jaxton for the 1st time. Jaxton loved it when Aunt Julie sang "100 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer on the wall..." I think he thought it was a cool new nursery rhyme!
We took Jaxton out to see my sister's horses and of course the thing he LOVES these days...her TRACTOR!! I had to pull his fingers off the Tractor to get him off....he would of stayed on it FOREVER...seriously!!
Ross invited his boss and his wife over for dinner so you know that I prepared all week for that one and it turned out GREAT...Thank Goodness!! AND she turned out to be one of the coolest and most down-to-earth woman I have met in a long time...we couldn't get any luckier!
This past weekend we took Jaxton down to Kemah to ride the CHOO CHOO train and see all the BOATS....now he recognizes a boat and says it perfectly...that's what exploring new places is all about....seeing words in REAL LIFE and not just from books and T.V.! The weather was California weather and we just soaked it all in and enjoyed the day together! BUT as we were driving back home I noticed Jaxton making a funny coughing sound and his cheeks were kinda red ( he had a runny nose for several days but no signs of any sickness) SO when we got home I took his temp and it was 101.8 so we rushed him up to this Urgent Care Clinic since Jaxton's Dr. was closed just to get him checked out and it turned out to be CROUP!! Apparently CROUP is caused by a virus and it swells up the larynx and trachea so he sounds like a seal barking when he coughs and he sure does! The only thing to do for it is to give his a steroid to get the swelling down and try to keep his throat moist! Well after MANY sleepless nights and very long days I think he has finally turned the corner...he sounds hoarse but is doing much better! Poor little guy!! Maybe the Easter Bunny needs to bring him "MORE" CHOCOLATE so he feels better!
